I’ve been thinking a lot lately…

…about what a massive (literal and metaphorical) rush the last year or so has been for me.

I don’t really feel like my feet have touched the ground since last summer, and if I look back at just how many things I’ve done in that period of time, it’s mind boggling.

The most recent big thing is of course the massive US tour I did as part of Welcome to Night Vale’s live show of “The Investigators”, which saw cohort Will and I travelling almost the entire outline of the USA, playing to many sold out crowds.

We played, or ate lunch in 29 states, played 36 shows (and a couple of non-NV shows too), and played to over thirty thousand audience members.

I have so much to say about the experience of the tour, I don’t really know where to start, so I’m just going to say thank you again to everyone who made it such an incredible experience. I’ll never forget it.

Here’s a high quality photo of Will and I enjoying my name in lights in Detroit.

Before that I was also on the road with Night Vale, on my own this time, on a tour of the UK and Europe, that saw us playing to 11 thousand people in 10 countries. This meant I got to visit Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland for the first time, and hang out with red squirrels.

Night Vale bring “The Investigators” back to the UK in a couple of weeks, you should absolutely GO NOW and treat yourself to a seat if you haven’t already. See here:

Before that, back in August 2014, which seems a LONG time ago, I was on stage with Boy George, Mark King, Bernard Butler, Hollie Cook, and Natalie McCool as part of Steve Levine’s  Assembly Point sessions at St George’s Hall, as part of the Liverpool International Music Festival. This was an incredible night, and a very fun day of rehearsals. Another experience I’ll not be able to forget.

So there you go. A busy year. After each of these things it took me a few weeks to readjust to normal life, almost in time to rush off again on another mission. Some of these things are secret at the moment but will emerge into the light at some time in the next year or so.

If I sound like I’m being flippant about any of this, it’s because I either don’t have the words, or I have so many words I’m afraid that starting might mean I never stop talking.

I’m so thrilled to have been invited to be a part of these things and to have made so many new friends on the way. Thank you all.

So what comes next?
